Jimmy Savage
Jimmy got his first guitar when he was 14 years old. Shorly after that he and friends started a band playing music from the British invasion, a life changing era. He played in numerous rock and roll bands such as Zeus and Lacota. All the while incorporating the blues influence he received listening to the blues greats. In the 80's, the Jimmy Savage Band was formed along with Jimmy and several family members. They covered a large genre of music from rock and roll to blues to country to folk and gospel.
Some of his greatest influences included but are not limited to the Rolling Stones, Beatles, Eric Clapton, Freddie King, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Bob Dylan, J Geils Band, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Hank Williams Sr. and Jr. amoung countless others.
Jimmy also plays every Sunday at the Lacota Methodist Church leading the congregation in song. He says, "The greatest gift given to him by God are his children and grandchildren." Jimmy goes on to say, "If you can't make someone cry when you sing a sad song then you probably are not singing it right."
